The results are in!!!!

So we now know what we are having. James had to work so I brought along Karlee who is like a younger sister (she was one of my Young Women at church and is now in college). In fact before we went in I told her," just in case they say only family can come in we'll just say we are sisters. . . . you look like mom and I look like dad."
So at first the lady doing the ultrasound said that she might not be able to see because the babies legs were pretty tightly closed. But finally the baby moved and she got a very clear shot. We were all so excited that we got to find out the sex of the baby. the last picture is of big D calling to tell James what we are having.. . . . . . oh by the way it's a boy! I can't believe it, I'm still trying to picture it and I can't. Before she told us I asked Derick what he wanted and he said that he didn't care (he is so cute like that) but when the lady showed him the picture of the little penis (or as my sister prefers to call it, taliwacker) he was pretty dang excited. This weekend he was talking about the little baby boy and said," mom I'm so excited, it's been over 10 years since we've had a baby boy." What a cutie. Anyways I'm feeling good and packing away the pink stuff!!

What a morning!

This morning was crazy. I got the kids off to school and then dropped Taylor off at preschool. Then me and Olivia had to run some errands before our memorial weekend trip on Friday. So I went by and got some breakfast. I got to Target, unbuckled Olivia and she jumped in the front seat and grabbed my drink. It was completely full and she grabbed the lid and it came off and spilled everywhere. I tried to clean it up best I could with her jumping around and me trying to keep her out of the mess but still in the van. Finally I gave up and decided just to go in. Well I had my purse with my keys on the floor, I had already locked the door. Olivia grabbed the handle to the automatic sliding door and shut it. Yeah . . . .she was locked in. The first 2 minutes I was calm trying to tell her to open the door, then I started panicking. A couple walked by and I stopped them and asked for their help. It happened that they have a boy with down syndrome and he does stuff like this all the time. So all three of us are talking sweetly to her asking her to push the buttons hoping by accident she'll unlock the door. The funny thing is that she was looking at us smiling and thoroughly enjoying herself and all the attention. Finally after about 10 minutes she pushed the right button and the doors unlocked. The lady was about to go get the security guy but luckily Olivia did it. I thanked the couple and then went into the store. I told Olivia how great she did and she kept telling me over an over that she unlocked the door.
Then on to get the car serviced where the guy said it would be done in 45 minutes. 1 hour 1/2 later it was done. Olivia is full on in her terrible two's and stuff like this is just no fun doing with her. Anyways I'm home the girls are jumping on the tramp with the sprinkler on and I'm beat!!!

It's a boy! maybe not

Ok so Derick is funny. You can all see the baby tracker thing to the left right. Well today Derick came and was hanging out by me on the computer and he saw the baby floating around and he says,"that's what our baby looks like huh?" and I say yes. Then he gets all excited and says yes mom it's a boy!!! I can see his penis! Sometimes it shows the cord attached and poor little Derick thought that that was actually our baby and it was a boy. Poor kid!!!

harvest time

We picked our lettuce today from our garden. We ended up with a ton and it tastes yummy. We had salad and the kids kept saying "wow this is the best lettuce ever. This is the best salad I've ever had." Great to see how since they helped plant the seeds, water and now harvest, they really appreciate that lettuce.

I love California for the fruit and veggies. It's strawberry season and I'm in heaven. The kids snack after school was strawberries and chocolate covered pretzels. YUMMY!!!

Zoo field trip

Taylor had a preschool field trip to the Oakland zoo on Thursday. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and it was fun to see the girls get so excited. Taylor was a little disappointed because she wanted to see "moto moto" (hippo) and there was not one there. All and all a fun day with the little ones.
