I'm trying out new hairdo's on the girls. What do you think? The girls sit really still so I have alot of time to mess around.

Canning Apricots

I feel so pioneerish!!!! Canning has always made me a little nervous. I guess I was afraid that I'd do it wrong or something. I canned applesauce with my friend, Jeni in Washington, 3 years ago but I must of done more "chatting" and not enough paying attention to what she did, because I can't remember specifics. So when our friends said their apricot orchard was ready and we could help ourselves me and my friend Amy decided to give it a go. We ended up canning 20 1 qt. jars today. It was fun and pretty easy. I bought a steam canner which I LOVE and it makes it very quick. Our next challenge is peaches and then apple butter. YUM!!!!

Painting Fun

I love to paint and even better I love what a difference paint can make. I watch HGTV and I always like the rooms that get some REAL color, so I decided that was what I was going to do. To take a chance and just go for it. I love the color, it is a greenish gray. It's hard to see in the pictures except for the very last one when I zoomed in on the frame. My good friend Amy came over and helped all day long. I can't wait to pick out the other colors for the rest of my house.

I'm thinking of painting my built in wear the TV is white. . . Give me your opinion, what do you think?

New Pets

We have a nest on our front porch and 2 baby birds hatched a few days ago. The kids love them and say that the birds are their pets. SWEET!!! My kids have pets and the BEST thing is that I don't have to buy food for them, pick up their crap, or clean out anything. I'm a good mom and I don't have to do a thing. I sure hope these little birds don't learn how to fly for quite awhile because then I'm in trouble!!!

The kids love it when I make pizza. I always save some of the dough for them and they pretend to make their own pizza. Olivia climbed up on the chair and even got in the action.

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!!!!

I can't believe Kaitlyn is 7. She is such a fun kid. For all of you who know her, you know what a character she is. I am always laughing at the things she says and "how" she says them. She has a very strong personality which I like. Sometimes not so much, but she is not the kid who is going to be "persuaded" to do something. It's interesting to watch her at school. While the other girls are very concerned about HOW they look, WHAT brand name clothes they are wearing or WHO they sit by at lunch, Kaitlyn isn't at all. In fact I am substitute yard duty and alot of the times I see Kaitlyn sit by herself at lunch. When I ask her why she doesn't sit by her friends she says," I just need some time to myself," OR "I don't know I just sit down and eat my lunch" I absolutely love that about her. SOOOOO Happy Birthday Kaitlyn, I love you so much!!!!

Derick made the All-Star team this year and he was pretty excited. Here's some pictures of the game. He said his favorite part was when they announced his name and he got to run out of the dugout.

KARAOKE!!!!!!

My GREAT friend Leslie is moving to Utah and she's always wanted to sing karaoke. So last night we made this wish come true. It was so fun and everyone got on stage to sing (whether they wanted to or not) There was a bunch of regulars that come all the time, including Willie. Now Willie had the hots for my friend Amy and it Totally entertained me the whole night. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I took some photos and videos just in case we forget how much fun we had!!! For all of you who DIDN"T come don't be sad and jealous of all the cool moves and singing you are about to see, we will do it again!!!

Young Women Sleepover

I always post backwards when I have alot of posts. oh well it is late, and I'm tired. . . . . . . . . On Friday there was a carnival at our school (scroll down for pic's) the girls helped out and then afterwards all came to my house for a big sleepover. It was alot of fun and like usual my kids were right in the middle of it all!!!!!

Spring Fling

For our end of the year carnival at the kids school I volunteered to do the 3rd grade booth which was "Alice in Wonderland Tea Party Musical Chairs." The whole theme was Disney with different booths and such. It turned out really cute. My friend Amy helped out and we had fun putting it all together. All the kids dressed up in Disney attire and costumes.
